Terms of Use

These terms apply to everyone who uses the Clara Science Academy portal, on the website or in the installable app. By signing in, you agree to them. They work alongside the school's student and family handbooks; if the two ever conflict, the handbook applies.

Accounts

• The school creates and manages every account. Use only the account you were given.
• Keep your password private and change any temporary password the first time you sign in.
• Parents may sign in on behalf of their own children using the portal's "Sign in as" feature. Do not use anyone else's account.
• Sign out on shared or public devices. Tell the office right away if you think someone else has used your account.

Acceptable use

The portal is for schoolwork and school communication. Do not:

• Post or send anything bullying, threatening, discriminatory, explicit or otherwise inappropriate for a school.
• Try to access information or areas you are not authorized to see, or test the portal's security without the school's written permission.
• Upload viruses or files you do not have the right to share.
• Disrupt the portal, for example with automated requests or attempts to overload it.

Academic integrity and test monitoring

Work you submit must be your own unless your teacher says otherwise. Some quizzes run in test mode, which records screen captures, camera images (unless an exemption is approved) and tab-switch activity, and may lock the attempt if you leave the test. Teachers review this information; images are deleted 60 days after the test. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Content

Students and staff keep ownership of the work they create. By uploading it, you allow the school to store and display it for teaching, grading and record-keeping. Teachers' course materials are for use by their classes only.

Cost

The portal is free for students, families and staff. There are no paid features or in-app purchases.

Availability

We work to keep the portal available and accurate, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or have errors. If a grade or record looks wrong, contact the teacher or office; the school's official records control.

Consequences

Misuse can lead to loss of portal access and to discipline under school policy. The school may suspend an account to protect students, staff or the portal.

Changes

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and significant changes will be announced in the portal.
